The following is an outline of the PlayStation®4 beta test and the steps that must be taken in order to participate.
Beta Test Period
The beta test will be conducted at the following times:
Beta Test Phase 1: From Saturday, February 22, 2014 to Monday, March 3, 2014
Beta Test Phase 2: From Friday, April 4, 2014 to Monday, April 7, 2014

Beta Test Phase 1
Pre-existing characters cannot be used during this phase. Furthermore,
because characters will be placed on a dedicated beta server in the
Japan Data Center, testers cannot play alongside Windows and
PlayStation®3 users on public servers.

Participating in Beta Test Phase 1
Starting Friday, February 22, 2014, FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn
(PlayStation®4 Beta Version) will be available for download from the
PlayStation®Store. Please note that no registration is necessary after
downloading the beta client.
For Windows Users
1. Using your Sony Entertainment Network account, log in to the
PlayStation®Store and download FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn
(PlayStation®4 Beta Version).
* Users who do not possess a Sony Entertainment Network account are required to create a new account.
* In the event multiple Sony Entertainment Network accounts are registered to the PlayStation®4 to be used for testing, please remember to log in using your account.
2. After launching the game, the Square Enix account login screen will be displayed. Log in using your Windows ID and password.
3. Upon entering your ID and password, you will be prompted to link your Square Enix account and your Sony Entertainment Network account.
* Please be advised that linking a Square Enix account to a Sony Entertainment Network account is an irreversible process.
4. Select your current FINAL FANTASY XIV service account.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin playing.

Beta Test Phase 2
During beta test phase 2, players have the option to participate using
pre-existing characters from the Windows and PlayStation®3 versions.
Furthermore, testing will be conducted on public Worlds. All newly
created characters can be created on a data center and World of your
choosing, and will carry over to official service after the beta test
has concluded.
Participating in Beta Test Phase 2
Starting Friday, April 4, 2014, FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn will
be available for download from the PlayStation®Store. No registration is
necessary after downloading the game client.
* Please note that a different game client is required to participate in phase 2 of the beta test. Users who participated in phase 1 are required to download the new game client.

For Users with Multiple Service Accounts
Only one service account per Sony Entertainment Network account and
Square Enix account can be used to participate in the beta test. Users
with multiple service accounts tied to a single Square Enix account
should choose carefully when selecting an account containing characters
they wish to use during the beta test.

Beta Test Announcements and Bug Reports
Starting February 22, 2014, all announcements regarding the beta test
including schedule updates and confirmed issues will be posted on the
official forums.
After selecting a service account to be used for the beta test, logging in to the official forums using your Square Enix account will grant access to the beta tester forums.
